09/23 Bar Harbor is definitely a tourist town, but one of my favorites. You can walk along the harbor on a paved path and get off to climb on rocks, walk down a pier, or tour a neighborhood. One night we stayed in a little squeezed in cabin right on the water and watched the tide come in while we had coffee. On my birthday 9/28, Erik treated me to a night at Bar Harbor Inn, parts of which were built in the 1800's. With its negative edge pool, beautiful landscaping, and views of French Bay, you feel as if you're in heaven. The views change as the fog comes in or burns off. I liked looking at the orange sails of the boat I took previously on a sunset cruise in the summer. You could take wine and cheese and listen to the musicians while you enjoyed the sail. In Bar Harbor, once you park, it is easy to walk to most of the shops and restaurants.
