Traveling The Inner Passage From Ketchikan to Anacortes

A special thanks to Erik who planned this trip for 2 years for my retirement and birthday. He also contributed many of the pictures. ❤️

We travelled the inner passage between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia and onto Washington state and the San Juan Island from 9/12 to 9/25/22. The weather was unusually dry with only one day of rain. Water is mostly calm in the inner passage with a few rough areas in a couple of straits. Trip was truly peaceful and we spent a lot of time being instead of doing. Truly a mind calming trip! Meanwhile Zeva is well taken care of in Texas by her besties.

Best reads along the way:

1-The Big Both Ways by John Stanley Book tells the tale of a 1900's escape up the Inner Passage on a dory. It's 3 passengers and a bird are running from the law and thugs.

2-Bird Girl and the Man who Followed the Sun by Velma Wallis. Story of two Native Americans who don't quite fit in with their tribes.
